However, it’s accessories like sink faucets that truly bring style and character to your design. Today we are beginning a two-part series focusing on the most important accessory you choose for a kitchen--the faucet. Faucets are no longer one-size-fits-all for kitchen sinks. Depending on the style, faucets can add a modern twist to a farmhouse basin sink or enhance the farmhouse look with a gold or bronze bridge faucet. In this post, we are taking a look at the top kitchen faucet options and trends of 2017.
Colors

Gone are the days when all you had to choose from for faucet colors was silver or matte silver. During the 2017 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, top manufacturers featured faucets in shades of gold, rose gold, bronze, and even black. With the mix-and-match trends dominating 2017, you don’t have to choose just one color to accessorize your kitchen. Got stainless steel appliances? Try adding a gold or brass faucet to the mix, along with other matching finishes like cabinet hardware to add warmth to the industrial appearance.

The color of faucets goes beyond the shade itself. For instance, polished metals are shiny and traditional while brushed metals have a more modern appeal. This year, gunmetal and black matte have seen a sharp rise in popularity and will continue to make waves in 2018.

Convenience and style continue to be the name of the game when it comes to the design of kitchen faucets. Single handle and pull down faucets are continuing their rise in popularity for their easy functionality and sleek style. Bridge style faucets are still favored among farmhouse style enthusiasts, as are wall mount faucets that work well with deep basin farmhouse sinks. Technology continues to be a major design factor for faucets in 2017. Homeowners love the idea of a faucet that “knows” when it’s needed with motion sensor technology, and being able to literally tap on water flow when your hands are too dirty to touch the handle is appealing to dirty job workers and families with young children.
